Η ταινία ξεκίνησε στο νοσοκομείο, τις μέρες που γεννιόταν η κόρη μου. Μέσα στη μαιευτική και γυναικολογική κλινική φέρανε ξαφνικά στο δωμάτιο μας μία γυναίκα πάνω από 60 χρονών, για κάτι σοβαρό που δεν ήτανε σίγουρα γέννα. Εμείς περιμέναμε να γεννήσουμε την επομένη. Μέσα σε λίγα λεπτά, η αυστηρή και απόλυτα αμίλητη παρουσία της άρρωστης γυναίκας στο διπλανό κρεβάτι με έκανε να πεταχτώ έξω και να αρχίσω να κλαίω στο τελευταίο παράθυρο του διαδρόμου. Ταυτόχρονα, στα γύρω δωμάτια συμβαίνανε γέννες και στην μονάδα εντατικής θεραπείας που ήταν ακριβώς απέναντι, πόρτα με πόρτα με την μαιευτική κλινική, συμβαίνανε θάνατοι. Είπα λοιπόν, θα φτιάξω μια κωμωδία, μια προβοκατόρικη ζωγραφιά.

The film started in the hospital, the days my daughter was being born. At the maternity ward they suddenly brought a woman over 60 years old, for something serious which was obviously not birth. We were expecting our child the next day. Within a few minutes the severe and absolutely speechless presence of the sick woman in the next bed, made me rush out of the room and start crying at the last window down the corridor. At the same time, in the next rooms, births were taking place and in the ICU, opposite the maternity ward, deaths were taking place. So, I said, I will make a comedy, a provocative painting.
