| Σημείωμα σκηνοθέτη Η ταινία κινείται από το αρχαίο στο σύγχρονο. Από τη μία -σύμφωνα με τα πρότυπα της Ελληνικής τραγωδίας- ο θεατής γνωρίζει τις λεπτομέρειες του μύθου, ενώ ο ήρωας στη σκηνή (στο πανί) αγνοεί ως το τέλος την τραγική του μοίρα. Από την άλλη -σύμφωνα με τον κατακερματισμένο, δικό μας κόσμο- η ιστορία αναπτύσσεται με την μορφή ενός βιβλίου comix που το ξεφυλλίζει άναρχα ο αέρας. |
Director’s Note The film moves from the ancient to the modern. On the one hand –according to the standards of Greek tragedy– the viewer is informed about the details of the myth, while the hero on stage (on the screen) is unaware of his own tragic fate until the end. On the other hand –according to our shattered, contemporary world– the story develops in the form of a comix book whose pages are turned at random by the wind. |

Στην ταινία ΤΟ ΣΥΝΔΡΟΜΟ ΤΗΣ ΧΙΟΝΑΤΗΣ του Άγγελου Σπάρταλη έχουμε την μέγιστη χρήση του ψηφιακού μέσου και των δυνατοτήτων που προσφέρει όπως την ευφάνταστη χρήση του κόμικ και του animation εγκιβωτισμένου στην κινηματογραφική αφήγηση. Ο δε τρόπος που συνδυάζει το φαντασιακό με το πολιτικό είναι ιδιαίτερα γόνιμος και πρωτότυπος. Ο σκηνοθέτης έχει μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα προσέγγιση στο "παραμύθι" της ερωτική σχέσης και τελειώνει με συγκινητικό και άκρως κινηματογραφικό φινάλε. |
In the film THE SNOW-WHITE SYNDROME by Angelos Spartalis, we witness the ultimate use of the digital medium and its potential, realized in an imaginative blending of comics and animation within the narrative. As for the way in which fictional and political elements are combined, it is particularly original and fruitful. The director approaches the “fairy-tale” of love in quite an interesting way, and finishes with a moving and purely cinematic finale. |

Η ανεξάρτητη εταιρεία παραγωγής ταινιών Wish You Luck και ο Άγγελος Σπάρταλης παρουσίασαν στο τμήμα Digital Wave του Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης, την ψηφιακή ταινία «Το σύνδρομο της Χιονάτης» και απέσπασαν το 1ο βραβείο της κριτικής επιτροπής «Ψηφιακός Αλέξανδρος» και το βραβείο κοινού «Fischer». |
Independent “Wish You Luck” film productions and Angelos Spartalis presented at the Digital Wave section of the 49th Thessaloniki International Film Festival the digital film “The Snow-white Syndrome” and won the “Digital Alexander” award (1st prize of the Jury) and the “Fischer” audience award. |

Στην τελετή απονομής, ο Άγγελος Σπάρταλης (που πέρυσι δεν δέχθηκε να παραλάβει την Εύφημο Μνεία που του απένειμε η επιτροπή) ανέφερε ότι, μετά από πίεση και «εκβιασμό» των συνεργατών του, φέτος δέχεται το βραβείο και το χρηματικό έπαθλο που το συνοδεύει. Το δέχεται είπε, αν και προέρχεται από το Ελληνικό Κέντρο Κινηματογράφου με το οποίο δεν είχε μέχρι τώρα -και δεν θα ήθελε να έχει και στο μέλλον- την παραμικρή ανάμιξη, γιατί θεωρεί ότι είναι αποκλειστικά ένας διαρκώς διογκούμενος γραφειοκρατικός μηχανισμός. |
At the closing ceremony, Angelos Spartalis, who had refused to receive last year’s Special Mention of the Jury, joked that he accepts this year’s award, and the accompanying financial prize, owing to pressure and “coercion” by his collaborates. He accepts, he said, although it comes from the Greek Film Center, with which he has had no relation so far and would not have any in the future, since he considers it only an increasingly frustrating bureaucratic mechanism. |

Ο πρόεδρος του Ελληνικού Κέντρου Κινηματογράφου, Γιώργος Παπαλιός ανέφερε ότι τον συγκινεί η στάση του Άγγελου Σπάρταλη γιατί του θυμίζει τη δική του άρνηση να δεχτεί χρηματικό βραβείο το 1975, και διευκρίνισε πως θα προσπαθήσει να βοηθήσει τους δημιουργούς που ασχολούνται με τα ψηφιακά μέσα. |
Greek Film Center President Giorgos Papalios, answered that he was moved by Angelos Spartalis’ attitude, because it reminded him of his own refusal to accept a financial prize in 1975, and pointed out that he will try to assist digital film makers. |
